The Miracle Paraplegic Rock Climber

Miss wheelchair Washington USA celebrates today after a great achievement at the Recreation Center of Central Washington University.

She managed to climb a wall on Saturday afternoon, despite her being paraplegic.

It hasn’t been easy to reach this point, Danielle Rice says.

She began climbing and was passionate about it a year and a half ago. A few months later, she also gave birth to her boy.

But shortly after, after a medical procedure, she suffered a spinal injury.

But Rice says she has been able to recover a little through intensive physical therapy.

She says it’s a miracle to be able to rock climb again.

Now Rice hopes to compete for Miss Wheelchair USA’s national title.

If she wins the title, this would be the state’s first.
