Never-ending Love

The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your love, O Lord, endures forever—do not abandon the works of your hands.
Psalm 138:8

In many cities, you can find a number of buildings that have been abandoned. Broken windows, graffiti messages, and vacant echoes all testify to the sense of failure, loss, and abandonment. The prior owner could not care for the property or chose not to maintain it, for whatever reason, and now the dilapidated structure decays day by day.

Of course, buildings aren’t the only things that suffer from abandonment. Homes, careers, and relationships may not show the same visible symptoms of decline as a tenement in the inner city, but the emotional scars remain just as fresh.

God not only heals and restores those wounds, but he has promised never to abandon us. He will not allow us to remain alone, suffering from neglect, decaying from lack of loving attention. He is our Father, and he loves us more than we can ever realize. We will never be orphaned—never—not with a Dad who loves us so much.
