It’s not surprising that Kenny Rogers is well-known amongst music fans everywhere, considering his career is still going strong six decades after it started. Rogers is one of the best-selling musicians of all time and his talent is justified with more than 120 hit singles that he’s sold. While he’s never stopped releasing new music, Rogers’ fans have still stuck by his old classics like “The Gambler,” and “Lady.”
While Rogers’ has gone strong for many years, some may be heartbroken to find out that he has decided to cancel his last tour due to health complications. He had scheduled one last world tour, “The Gambler’s Last Deal,” with several dates listed for venues across the country, however; the cancellation came as a result of his doctor’s urging.
“Kenny Rogers has been working through a series of health challenges,” the release reads. “His doctors fully expect the outcome to be great, but they have advised him to cancel all performances through the end of the year to focus on recuperation.”
The release also includes a statement from Rogers.
“I didn’t want to take forever to retire,” he said. “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this opportunity to say farewell to the fans over the course of the past two years on ‘The Gambler’s Last Deal’ tour. I could never properly thank them for the encouragement and support they’ve given me throughout my career and the happiness I’ve experienced as a result of that.”
“The Gambler’s Last Deal” was to be the 79-year-old’s farewell tour.
