Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.
As children, we enjoyed our favorite candy as a special treat. Whether it was gummy bears or chocolate bars, peanut butter cups or licorice twists, we delighted in the burst of sweetness—and the spike of sugar in our system—until the next special occasion.
As adults, we still look forward to special treats. From gourmet toffee to fresh berry pies, it’s hard to pass up a delicious dessert. We may have more sophisticated palates now, but the sweet taste remains the same.
Gracious words have the same impact as that first bite of our favorite treat. Flavorful, juicy, and sweet, they have the power to heal grudges, solve problems, and encourage another weary soul.
What you say matters. Today, use your words carefully, sharing their sweet flavor wherever you go.
