Florida man was spotted buying $50,000 in generators for Hurricane Dorian victims, but wants to stay anonymous

While still anonymous, the guy was talking to CNN. A farmer from Jacksonville, he claims he likes to pay attention to the victims rather than get attention himself.

Many in the US and the Bahamas have been hit hard by Hurricane Dorian. Kind-hearted individuals have stepped up to assist others in need by providing cash and gifts.

But one person made an enormous purchase that would help hundreds of storm victims — and he’s still anonymous.

Florida resident Alex Sprague headed to Jacksonville Costco on September 4, preparing for the storm by buying a generator. It turned out that he wasn’t the only one. The generators cost about $450, so Sprague was amazed to see another man purchasing not just one, but more than a hundred, intending to contribute to storm survivors in the Bahamas.

The complete purchase total was $49,285.70. While that was mostly from generators, he also bought food products to be transported, such as peas, beans, and coffee. Sprague caught a picture of the philanthropist, but despite his huge gift, the guy insisted on staying unnamed, giving no consideration for his good deed.

However, Sprague couldn’t let this act go unnoticed. “All I could do was shake his hand and thank him!” Sprague wrote on Facebook. “There still are good people in the world!”

While still anonymous, the guy was talking to CNN. A farmer from Jacksonville, he claims he likes to pay attention to the victims rather than get attention himself. “It’s important that we help each other out. It’s better than just sitting there,” he told them. “You see a need and you fill it.”
