Flight Attendant Breastfeeds Starving Baby While Inflight

A flight attendant came to one passenger’s rescue when she offered to breastfeed the passenger’s baby while inflight.

In her own Facebook post, stewardess Patrisha Organo said she had heard a little baby cry as the Philippine Airlines (PAL) domestic flight took off early in the morning on November 6.

The PAL flight attendant recalled the baby’s cry was “a cry that will make you want to do anything to help.” So she approached the mother, who was alone, and asked if everything was okay.

“I tried to tell her to feed her hungry child. Teary-eyed, she told me that she ran out of formula milk. Passengers started looking and staring at the tiny, fragile crying infant,” Organo wrote on facebook.

“I felt a pinch in my heart. There’s no formula milk onboard,” she added.

An advocate of breastfeeding, Organo offered her own breast milk to calm and nourish the crying hungry baby.

Organo said her administrator named Sheryl Villaflor, then helped the exhausted mother to the plane’s gallery where the flight stewardess breastfed the crying baby.

“The baby started rooting, she was so hungry,” Organo wrote.

“I saw the relief on her mother’s eyes. I continued to feed the baby until she fell asleep.”

After the baby was done feeding, Organo escorted the mother and child back to their seat. The baby’s mother “sincerely” thanked the 24-year-old flight attendant, who herself is a first-time mother to a 9-month-old baby girl.

“More than inspired, I have a mother’s heart that knows what the baby needs,” she wrote.

Just two months prior, Organo had been promoted as Assistant Line Administrator in the airline company. On November 6, she was scheduled to undergo a “check flight” to be able to qualify as Evaluator, which is one of the duties of an Assistant Line Administrator.

“I was right, the flight’s gonna be special, so special not only because I got qualified as an Evaluator but I got to help,” she wrote.

“I breastfed a stranger’s baby inflight,” she added.
