11-Year-Old Boy Finds Little Girl Buried Alive In The Sand And Jumps Into Action and Saves Her

Kids of all ages love digging in the sand.

But sand, though it seems light in small amounts, can pack quite a lot of weight. People use bags of sand to weigh things down all the time.

Alyssa Bostic, together with her friends, had been spending their day at the beach digging little grooves of sand from the sand dunes around the area.

One of the holes that Alyssa dug seemed pretty big, and it had formed a small cave-like structure, so she decided to crawl into the hole to see if she could fit.

Then came the unthinkable. The sand cave collapsed on her, leaving her trapped with no air, sealing her only exit.

Fortunately, it wasn’t long before Connor Fitz-Gerald, an 11-year-old boy, arrived at the spot where the accident took place.

He found the bag lying alone in the sand and realized that something had to be wrong right away.

He began digging in the region and quickly began to see a little young girl stuck in the sand.

Connor looked around rapidly, searching instinctively for any grown-ups that might help.

But there was no one nearby and he knew that he had to act quickly because the girl was probably running out of valuable oxygen.

So Connor let his instincts take over.

He attempted to find out where her head might be and worked on digging in that region she would have access to oxygen.

Finally, he was able to get ahold of her and pull her from the sand.

The bad news was she didn’t move and looked lifeless. She was barely breathing, too.

Connor knew her life depended on what he would do next.

He realized the girl’s nose, mouth, and even eyes had sand in them. So he did what he knew could be the best choice – he began performing CPR.

This young man had never learned how to perform CPR properly, but he had seen it on TV shows.

Although he wasn’t 100% sure what he was doing, his actions actually worked! Alyssa drew in a big breath and started to breathe again.

Alyssa’s parents soon came by and found out what had happened. They called 911 immediately.

According to paramedics, if not for Connor’s quick actions, Alyssa would not have survived.

Thankfully, she has now made a full recovery.

Way to go Connor!
