When Jacinta Masters went to her local Best and Less clothing store in Australia to return infant clothes, she realized she didn’t carry the cards with which she purchased the products. Initially they refused to accept the products back as it was against their company policy to accept under these circumstances. But what they heard next not only changed their mind, they went out of the way to make her feel special.
When they refused, she broke down in tears. She told them she lost her baby and she was on her way to the hospital to induce labor and deliver the child and she didn’t know if she had the strength to see the clothes once she returned from the hospital.
This gut-wrenching story of the woman moved the cashier, Jo, so much that she immediately ran to her manager to override the protocol.
Read the gist of her heartfelt open letter on Facebook to know what Jo did:
“This is an open letter to Jo, the beautiful lady who served me at Best and Less this morning.”
She then went on to describe the incident of the missing card and telling Jo why she had to return the clothes and how Jo helped to override the protocol. Jo asked her if she had bought a blanket yet. It was the one thing she needed at the hospital right after delivery and which she hadn’t bought yet. She goes on to say:
“You came and gave me a big hug and let me cry on your shoulder. You then took me to the blanket section and helped me pick out a blanket. Blue mink with white clouds on it.
It was perfect.”
When she went to pay Jo said she took care of it. The gesture moved Jacinta so much that she said:
“I cried all the way to the hospital. I sat out the front of the hospital for 15 mins, just crying and clutching my baby’s blanket.”
This help from a complete stranger, whose name she didn’t know, was something she said she’d remember for the rest of her life.
“I just want you to know, it brought so much comfort cuddling his blanket through the contractions, and then wrapping him in it when he was born.”

Dear Sister and Brother,
- 1. God IS in control even when everything in our live seems to be crashing down around us.
- 2. Life is not always fair, it rains on the just and the unjust…we should not compare our lives to others but focus on the plan God has for us.
- 3. Bad things will happen in this world, but God promised us a home in heaven if we believe in Jesus. One without sorrow, pain or death…where we never will grow old.
