Young Mother Throws Newborn Down From 2nd Story Window To Save Her Life

There’s no force on earth that can replace the power of a mother’s love for her child. Most mothers claim that they’d do everything to protect their children. But few mothers actually prove such claims. Young Shelby Carter, one such mother, proved that her love for her baby was more than her love for her own life.

This happened twelve days after Shelby, who is 21 years old, gave birth to her first baby. She was in her bedroom on the second floor of the building when she was struck by a shocking realization. Her house was on fire.

The actual time between Shelby realizing this and her heroic step to save her baby is unknown. Investigators say that she took this brave step within seconds. After realizing that both of them were in danger, Shelby smashed the glass window of her bedroom.

What she did next was unbelievable: she strapped her baby into a car seat and threw her down from the second floor. Investigators revealed that a wall of smoke and fire engulfed her after she threw her baby down. Sadly, Shelby lost her life due to carbon monoxide poisoning, but luckily saved her newborn baby who only suffered minor burns.

The house fire was undoubtedly a situation of panic for the young mother, but she took a quick decision to save her baby, although it meant she losing her own life. The community in Wyoming, Illinois is saluting her for this brave act, and establishing GoFundMe to help Shelby’s family. Shelby’s story is truly an inspiration for all mothers.

Dear Sister and Brother,

  1. 1. God IS in control even when everything in our live seems to be crashing down around us.
  2. 2. Life is not always fair, it rains on the just and the unjust…we should not compare our lives to others but focus on the plan God has for us.
  3. 3. Bad things will happen in this world, but God promised us a home in heaven if we believe in Jesus. One without sorrow, pain or death…where we never will grow old.
